About Dr. Hammit:

Dr. Matt Hammit is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon. He was a President’s Endowed Scholar at Texas A&M University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He then earned his medical degree at Texas A&M Health Science Center and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha National Honor Society. He completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at The University of Mississippi, where he was Chief Resident and helped take care of the Ole Miss Rebels athletic teams. He achieved an AO/ASIF Trauma Fellowship and then a Fellowship in Foot and Ankle Reconstruction at Carolinas Medical Center. While in Charlotte, he assisted team physician Dr. Robert Anderson in the care of the Carolina Panthers. He also has earned the Subspecialty Certification in Orthopedic Sports Medicine.

Dr. Matt Hammit specializes in Orthopedic Sports Medicine and Foot & Ankle Reconstruction. He uses minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques on Rotator Cuff disorders, shoulder instability, biceps tendon injuries, ACL tears, meniscus tears, and knee instability. He also repairs achilles tears, performs flat foot reconstruction, and does bunion correction. Dr. Hammit is a reviewer for the journals Foot and Ankle International, and Foot and Ankle Orthopaedics.

Dr. Hammit has been a team physician for The Carolina Panthers, Ole Miss Rebels, Prairie View A&M Panthers, Oak Ridge High School, Grand Oaks High School, Magnolia High School, Magnolia West High School, Westfield High School, Spring High School, and is the current team physician for The Conroe Tigers-where he attended high school.

He lives in The Woodlands where he attends The Woodlands United Methodist Church, lives with his wife and three sons, and has served on the Board of Directors for Meals on Wheels of Montgomery County.

Dr. Hammit is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He also belongs to the Texas Medical Association, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, The American Foot and Ankle Society, the Texas Orthopedic Association, and the Harris County Medical Society.
